SignsScorpio

♏︎ Scorpio

Intensity, depth, what lies beneath.

The Sun crosses Scorpio each year around October 23 – November 21, the span most people mean when they say they “are” a Scorpio. On the clock it occupies the 210°–240° arc of the gold ring, traditionally ruled by Mars.

In Scorpio right now

No planets are passing through Scorpio at the moment. The ring waits empty.

In the classical scheme Scorpio combines the water element with the fixed mode, on the negative, receptive half of the wheel: a feeling, instinctive, tidal key. Being fixed, it digs in, holds its position, and resists being moved.

Season anchors the sign: it holds the deep of autumn, when the year turns inward. Tradition hands its rulership to Mars, the old rulership: the fighter turned inward, will under the surface, and assigns it the organs of generation in the classical body-map.

Read well, Scorpio shows as loyalty that survives the depths; read badly, it slides toward a grip that will not loosen.
