The Sun crosses Leo each year around July 23 – August 22, the span most people mean when they say they “are” a Leo. On the clock it occupies the 120°–150° arc of the gold ring, traditionally ruled by the Sun.

Leo is the fixed fire sign, belonging to the positive, outward-turned half of the zodiac: a fast, outward, expressive key. Being fixed, it digs in, holds its position, and resists being moved.
